Over the years, we’ve tried so many different products to make everyday life a little easier for Emma. Some worked, some didn’t, and some have become things we use all the time.
I’m sharing the products we’ve personally found helpful in hopes that something that worked for Emma might help another family, too.
Please remember: Every child is different, and what works for Emma may not work for every child. These are simply products that we have personally used and found helpful.

Ninjamas Nighttime Underwear — What Works for Emma
Finding diapers that fit Emma as she has grown has been a challenge.
We tried multiple generic brands, but because of Emma’s height and weight, the diapers we had used when she was younger were no longer fitting her well.
We eventually found Ninjamas Nighttime Underwear, and they have been the best fit for Emma so far. They are also much easier for us to use with her.
We actually double them up, because that is what works best for Emma and helps us prevent leaks.
After trying multiple generic brands that did not work for her, her diapers were covered through insurance.

Chewy & Sensory Products
Chewy Legos
These are one of the products we’ve found helpful for Emma.
We’re always looking for things that Emma can safely interact with and that she enjoys, and these have become one of our favorites. We tried multiple ones and these by far can withstand Emma’s incredibly strong bite.
We love this company, and we’ve been buying the brick sticks for years. They have held up really well for Emma and have become one of our go-to products.

Mealtime & Bibs
The Bibs We Made for Emma
Finding bibs that worked well for Emma was surprisingly difficult.
We tried different options, but eventually realized that we needed something designed around Emma’s specific needs. So we decided to make our own.
This is our first test version. 
We’re still making adjustments to the design and fit before we’re ready to offer them to other families.
We’re excited about the possibility of creating bibs for kids who need something a little different from what is typically available.

Products We Use for Emma’s Hair
Brushing Emma’s hair can be a challenge, so over the years we’ve tried different brushes, products, and techniques to make it easier.
I’ll be adding the products that have worked best for us here.
Bath Time
Equipment & Products That Help
Bath time can require some extra planning with Emma, and we’ve found certain equipment and products that make it safer and easier for our family.
Some of Emma’s larger pieces of equipment have been obtained through insurance, including equipment such as her bath chair.
I’ll share the products and equipment we’ve found helpful here.
Getting Around
Equipment That Has Helped Emma
Over the years, we’ve learned that it’s important to ask questions about what equipment may be available through insurance.
Some of the equipment we’ve used for Emma includes:
- Stroller
- Bath chair
- Car seat
- Rifton gait trainer
- Other adaptive equipment
Our experience: Don’t assume you have to purchase everything yourself. Talk with your child’s doctors, therapists, and insurance company about what equipment may be medically appropriate and what coverage is available.
